STRATEGY - SERVICES - FACILITATION - CO-CREATION - INNOVATION
BESMART
BeSmart is an EU funded consortium comprised of 16 organisations in the construction sector. They're vision is to create a strong industrial sector in Europe for Energy Positive Glazing (or solar panels that are integrated into a building's facade) by 2030.

As a designer, I developed and facilitated an innovation process to realise a 10 year strategy among these actors, ranging from background research, system mapping, future scenarios, goal setting and roadmapping. Below you can see a selection from the report we produced with the roadmap of goals and actions, as well as a digital prototype we mocked up as a future step to execute the strategy.
Here is a mock up of a digital tool to implement the BeSmart strategy where role, responsibilities and progress are made transparent.
CARBON TRACKER
In this project, we piloted a technology to calculate the carbon emissions of personal purchase. We ran a 1 month pilot in which participants sent us images of their receipts form the week's purchases then we calculated the emissions and sent them the visualisation below so that they can see their weeks emissions overall, by category and in comparison to the group.

We also conducted 2 interviews and a weekly survey to understand how the service and the visualisation was impacting them throughout the pilot.
The user research reveals that participants did feel bad about higher emissions, however, we could not correlate that to a reduction in emissions in the follow week. A small population and short period for the pilot made that not possible.
Several development paths were considered after the pilot and one such path discussed was with food delivery platforms.

So, as we lived through a pandemic, futures and strategy experts discussed the transformative potential of the unprecedented moment and the strategic opportunities to create desirable, sustainable futures.

We aimed to provide tools for decision-makers to be more strategic in their initiatives and for citizens looking to push the climate agenda to the next level.
